Service Area Expansion
The merger has led to an expansion of Point32Health’s service area. It now caters to an expanded membership base of approximately 2.4 million members across multiple states including:
Medicare Advantage Plans Offered by Point32Health
Point32Health offers a variety of Medicare Advantage plans. These options from Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and Tufts Health Plan come with enhanced benefits starting January 1, 2024.
Annual benefit updates for these Medicare Advantage plans are applied from the beginning of each year, following each plan’s renewal or effective date.
Participating in the Medicare Advantage Value-Based Insurance Design (VBID) Model, Point32Health aims to offer tailored supplemental benefits to improve the efficiency of health service delivery and enhance the quality of care for Medicare beneficiaries. Under the VBID Model, members may receive reductions in cost-sharing and encouragement to use high-value providers.
The plans are evaluated based on ratings of up to 38 unique measures for Medicare Advantage plans that include prescription drug coverage.
HMO and PPO Plans
Harvard Pilgrim, under Point32Health, offers HMO plans where members need to select a primary care provider and obtain referrals for specialist services. In contrast, PPO plans permit the use of out-of-network services without referrals but at a higher cost.
